In Africa there is an old proverb that says ” If a hotel has to put up a sign board saying, clean rooms available, then it is shanty that people would otherwise assume its rooms are dirty. Can we compare this to when Donald Trump announced that he took a cognitive test and passed all the questions??
Can we say he is so far gone cognitively that he is worried other people know about it ? And that’s why he had to announce that he passed the test.
The worry for Trump is that the test contains questions like whether you can correctly differentiate a lion from an elephant, and as he once famously bragged, whether you can remember a sequence of words like “woman, camera, man, TV.”
Then this isn’t something you would boast about, any more than you would gloat about walking across an empty room without falling. That is unless you have a medical condition that makes it hard to walk across a room without falling. And there is no shame with that nor anything wrong with having dementia, but there is never a chance to have a president with Advanced Dementia.
The trivial fact of Trump boasting of not having dementia is the cognitive analogous of putting ” clean rooms” out front.
The main issue is that newsrooms print as if it is a fact whenever Trump and his team announce he has aced every cognitive test. But the big question remains, are there medical results released to the public to support his sentiments ??
Is there reliable evidence that Trump has cognitive issues? Yes, every time he appears in public. Yet most of the media outlets ignore all that and give Trump all the hype he wants on how he has pronounced cognitive abilities in the history of mental abilities.
While in real sense Trump is back there trying to understand what is going on, disgorging words that don’t even rhyme. But by all means Mainstream media’s let’s come out strong and call a spade a spade, not a big spoon.
